What Does Membership In The Network Offer?
People who understand your work. We celebrate and elevate those deep in the work of building their ecosystem and we help each other get better at it.
Access to the national startup network. We are an intentional community of peers who are the leaders and connectors of major innovation hubs and national resource organizations. Our organization connects many grassroots builders to national resources who otherwise don’t have access.
Bi-Annual Gatherings We host small, intimate, bi-annual Summits of ecosystem builders to foster relationships, share knowledge, find encouragement, and invest in personal growth.
Best practices for innovation ecosystem building. Our members, each a best-in-class ecosystem builder in their own right, meet with, learn from, and share with each other what’s working to make the most impact.
Live case studies of other innovation ecosystems. Our Summits and monthly email updates give builders a behind-the-scenes tour of other members’ ecosystems to see, help with, and learn from the good, bad and ugly of other communities working toward similar goals.
Help elevate your best startups to the national level. Our members work together to help each others’ best startups get access to resources, opportunities, and connections around the nation increasing their chance for success.
Data to benchmark your ecosystem’s health. Nothing legitimizes an ecosystem builder’s work like good old fashioned metrics of success. Our straight-forward collection process (forthcoming) and ability to compile data across the network, and therefore the nation, gives ecosystem builders the tools to prove to themselves, their funders and their partners that they are indeed making an impact.
What Investment Is Expected Of Members?
- Attending in-person summits twice a year, around the country
- Sending (and receiving):
- A monthly ecosystem update via email to the other members
- Bi-annual ecosystem benchmarking data collected locally
- Help to evaluate top startups and access resources at the national level
- Contacts, insights and expertise to help each other succeed
- Willing to host a summit every few years ($3,000 per summit to cover expenses)
- Paying an annual membership fee ($100/year), summit registration fees ($50/event) and travel expenses ($200-$800/summit depending on distance and lodging preferences)
The investment outlined above is required for EACH member. Memberships will be considered inactive if a member does not pay their annual membership fee, submit their bi-annual ecosystem data, attend two or more consecutive summits, or misses three or more months a year of ecosystem updates. Inactive members do not have access to certain events, tools, data or other membership benefits to be determined. Inactive members may reactivate at any time by completing the investment requirements. Active and inactive members are welcome to nominator other ecosystem builders from their region or organization to take their place.
